Writing a Perfect Paragraph

In order to study for your assessment tomorrow, practice writing a perfect paragraph. I have included below, examples of how you fellow classmates are writing perfect paragraphs. Remember, we must have a topic sentence which briefly restates and answers the question. Remember this is the only sentence which is indented. We then need four evidence from the text. Finally, we need a concluding sentence which restates your opinion and answers the question again. I have broken it down for you all here.

Topic Sentence: Meaningful friendships are able to exist among people who are different.
First Evidence from Text: Meaningful friendships are able to exist among people who are different.
Second Evidence from Text: In William Steig’s book, Amos and Boris, two different types of animals became great friends.
Third Evidence from Text: First, the little mouse, Amos, fell into the water. Next, the large whale, Boris came to help save Amos, by putting him on his back.
Fourth Evidence from Text: After that, Boris was thrown on to the land, because of mighty, Hurricane Yetta. Amos was able to go find a group of elephants, who then tossed Boris back into the water.
Concluding Sentence: Essentially, although they were two different sizes and two different species of animals, Amos and Boris proved that meaningful friendships among people who are different are able to exist.
