Dear Families,
As you all are looking at your student's progress reports (they went home today), please keep a few things in consideration. Every assignment counts. This means every homework assignment, test, and even work completed during their workstation/ centers time count. Many students have continued to strive to become fluent and understanding readers. However, we do have some who have slacked a bit. Thanksgiving is next week and we have three amazing days off to enjoy with our friends and family. Let's continue to strive for the best.
This week, I have begun fluency checks. The students come to me individually and read a passage to me. While they read, I note how many words they read within that sixty second time period as well as how many words they have missed. Out of both classes, let's give a shout out to Miss Anna Beth for having the best fluency record of 157 words per minutes. Great job, Anna Beth! Let's all continue to practice reading for 15-20 minutes every night.
